Hello Everyone! I know a lot of you out there are athletes and probably work out everyday. I am not one to go to the gym consistently. I would rather be outside playing a game with friends, hiking, kayaking, or fishing. I know that all of those activities are great, but I would feel better if I went to the gym more. Once I get to the gym, I don't mind it! The hard part is getting myself to actually go! Does anyone have some advice on how to get on a consistent gym schedule and not feel like it's a pain every time?
I feel your pain Meghan. I have been a runner since the 7th grade, but this past year has been a downhill spiral ever since i hurt my foot. After not running for over a year, i have been finding it incredibly hard to get myself into a good workout routine also. I am hoping that once summer hits and I am not quite so busy I will have an easier time with trying to get back into shape. I think the key is finding something that you love to do, that way getting motivated is not quite so hard. I have never really been one to work out in a gym, because i love running out on the roads and trails, but my advice is to keep a log of when you go to the gym and what you do. It helps to keep you accountable for how much work you are doing, but it also motivates you because its better to open up the log and see every day filled then a bunch of empty spaces. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem. I like working out but I hate going to the ARC. I would say to just go for it. Make a plan, set a time, and don't make any excuses. It takes a bout 3 weeks to make something a habit. The choice is yours to make it a good or bad habit. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI tend to agree with you. I am usually one that would rather be out side than inside at the gym. If i do make it to the gym I usually end up playing basketball or something other than actually going to the gym. If you just take the time out and plan out a schedule for the week you should be able to make the time. As long as you get at least 60 minuets of Physical Activity i say do it any way you can!
